3.4 dsplystatus.pl – the web-based status viewer

The simple CGI script dsplystatus.pl generates a web page showing the list of current listeners and the time of their connection to the display server (Fig 5). After connecting to dsplyserver.pl, it sends a message requesting status and reads the returned listener list. The connection is closed and the list is converted to an HTML table for display in the user's browser. An optional URL parameter allows the user to set a refresh rate for automatic updates of the listener list page.
